Our safety officer Michael Charest & Manchester Harley's Rowan Gonyer have coordinated with the Aubrey Mitsch Foundation for a Motorcyclist First Aid Training course.
About Aubrey Mitsch Foundation
George and his wife Sherri, started the Aubrey Mitsch Foundation in 2022 as a 501(c)(3) organization registered in the state of New Hampshire. The foundation is named after our daughter, Aubrey Nicole Mitsch, an Army medic who was tragically killed by a motorist while riding her motorcycle in 2020. Our mission is based on three pillars; 1) providing scholarships to Merrimack HS seniors pursuing a degree in the medical field or pursuing a career in the military in a medical related field; 2) Enhancing motorcycle safety; 3) encouraging organ donation.
Our Efforts.
In the effort to enhance motorcycle safety, our organization is sponsoring (along with Service Credit Union) a First Aid Course for motorcycle riders. We are targeting motorcycle riders for a couple of reasons. First, our daughter was killed while riding her motorcycle. 4 months prior to her death, she responded to a motorcycle accident and kept the injured person alive until the ambulance arrived. After the accident, she told us how important it is to have a trauma kit available. Second, oftentimes, your fellow riders are the first on the scene, the first few minutes after an accident can mean the difference between life and death. Lastly, unfortunately motorcycle accidents are occurring with increased frequency, so motorcycle riders need to have the training and materials necessary to respond to accidents.
The Cost is $50 pp. and is open to 12 people for Sat April 12th, 2025.
**For those that CAN NOT kneel please take note - persons may do the practice exercises on an elevated surface, however they must be able to complete 2 full rounds of compressions on the floor to receive a certificate.
